What kind of iron do you use and how long have you had it? Plus, let me know what you're planning to make for the holidays!
this is making me miss my old Black & Decker. It was a clunker, but it was MY clunker. Yes, I am emotionally attached to certain irons LOL
I have the cordless iron, and definitely think it is worth the price. I think I have had it two to three years, now. But, I also purchased a 2’ by 4’ wool felt mat, which it definitely a game changer too.
I had bought a Black & Decker iron because my hubby thought it was a good brand. Had it 2 weeks & it stopped working! I got the cordless Panasonic & used it everyday for at least 7hrs a day for 2 yrs. I love it!
I clean my iron plate with dryer sheets.
P.S. I meant to add I use the iron cleaner on the teflon plate, but for the stainless plates you can run the hot iron over a magic eraser. Works pretty good!
Be careful using TikTok. I just read a news report the Chinese Government is using it to get to peoples private information.
I agree about the Sunbeam. I had a Black and Decker $12 iron and it finally died after about 15 years. I do have the cordless Panasonic and really love it too.
Let's see…I have an iron with a teflon plate – maybe that's the brand, I can't remember. I like it ok and it is my oldest iron. I think I paid around $40 for it. I also have a cordless iron which I think I paid $69 for on Amazon. It's the light green/blue Panasonic. I got it because I was tired of the cord on my teflon iron. I really like the cordless. I am currently using it all of the time. You have to get used to getting it back into the base, but with practice I it isn't a problem.
I also have a dry iron that I bought from Vermont Country Store. I used to use it more. It's smaller, gets very hot and does a great job. And lastly I just bought a mini Sunbeam to use in the hoops when doing embroidery with the Brother 800 (which I just got a month or so ago – thanks for all the videos you have made on this most excellent machine). The mini Sunbeam iron was $20 from Amazon. I haven't used it much at this point but it got good reviews and the price was reasonable.
For presents this year I am making mug rugs. They have been a good way for me to learn how to use the embroidery machine, they're a lot of fun to make and I like the fact that they are in the hoop projects.
Have a great holiday season and thanks for your videos!
I am hearing alot of crafters talk about jumping onto TikTok….the hot new social platform. I am going to try it soon. Added bonus, I can stalk/embarrass my teen daughter.
No, Jen, you are not the slowest sewist… I AM! 😂 It might be my obsession with getting everything sewn as perfect as possible, I don't know, lol. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to watching the McCall's jacket videos!
